Long Day Care Centres offer childcare and individual learning programs for children aged from 6 weeks to under 6 years of age. Centres are open at least 8 hours each weekday, and can care for your child on a regular full time, part time or casual basis. They may be privately run, sponsored by local government or community organisations, or run by an employer for their employees.
Long Day Care centres must be licensed and operate according to State Government regulations:

Child Care Access Hotline - 1800 670 305
The Child Care Access Hotline provides information for parents about types of childcare services, vacancies, government help with the cost of childcare and choosing a quality service. The hotline is open Monday to Friday between 8am and 9pm, Australian Eastern Standaard Time on 1800 670 305. A Telephone Typewriter Service (TTY) is available on 1800 639 327 (only for people who are deaf or who have a hearing or speech impairment). A Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) is also available to assist callers from culturally diverse backgrounds.
