North Sydney Family Day Care commenced operating as a home-based child care service in 1974.
Our service is sponsored by North Sydney Council and receives funding from the Commonwealth Government.
The scheme comprises of a network of Educators supported by a Coordination unit staffed with qualified Early Childhood professionals. Family Day Care Educators work in their own homes with groups of children of up to 5 children under the age of 5 years as well as up to two school-aged children.
The scheme is approved under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, and adheres to the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). It will also be assessed and rated under the new National Quality Framework.
All educators operate their won business and fees vary. As a guide fees commence at $75 per day. Eligible families are able to receive Child Care Benefit and Chilld Care Tax Rebate, please see the link below to the Centrelink form.

Notes and claim for Approved Child Care Benefit payments throughout 2011-2012
Please note that the application form starts on page 31. The form needs to be downloaded and taken to the Family Assistance counter at all Medicare offices BEFORE starting care.
A copy of the "Assessment Notice of Child Care Benefit for Approved Care" needs to be forwarded to the Family Day Care office as soon as it is received.
