Membership

Membership is open to everyone and is free. Proof of current home address is required. Young people under the age of 18 also need the signature of a parent or guardian.

If you join Stanton Library you can also borrow at other Shorelink libraries. Each Shorelink library has its own membership guidelines. Shorelink is a computer network which links the five Lower North Shore Council Libraries of Lane Cove, Manly, Mosman, Stanton (North Sydney) and Willoughby. This sharing of computer resources and systems allows borrowers to search and borrow books from the entire stock of all the participating libraries, as well as delivering cost savings for each of the libraries.

Borrowing

Your library card is needed each time you borrow. If it is lost you will need to notify the library staff immediately.

Items may be borrowed for up to 3 weeks.

All items can be renewed twice if they are not on hold for someone else. Renewals can be made from this website in the Stanton Catalogue section, in person at the Circulation Desk, or by phone during opening hours. When making a phone renewal, you will need to provide your borrower number and item details.

Books may be borrowed from and returned to any Shorelink library. Audio visual material borrowed from Stanton library must be returned to Stanton.

An After Hours Returns chute is available 24 hours a day.

Home Library Service

If you are unable to visit the library because of frailty or disability, Stanton Library will come to you, absolutely free of charge.

There is also a free Delivery Service available to frail or disabled borrowers who wish to visit the library but require assistance with getting the resources home.

The Home Library Service can deliver: books (including Large Print), audiobooks, CDs, DVDs, magazines.

To discuss how to join the service and visiting times, phone the Home Library Service on 9936 8429 on Tues-to-Thurs, or the Library Information Desk on 9936 8400.
