Standard Rubbish

The standard rubbish service provided is one (1) 60 litre rubbish bin per week for each residential rate assessment. The bin is to be covered with a close-fitting lid.

Things You Should Know:

  • There is a strict limit to the number of rubbish bins or wheelie bins that each property is entitled to have picked up.
  • Cardboard boxes, rubbish bags or any other receptacles used for rubbish other than the approved bin for a house or unit will not be emptied.
  • Bins that are overloaded or exceed the size limit of one 60 litre bin per house or 240 litre bin per four units, will not be emptied unless appropriate excess arrangements have been made.
  • Non-mobile bins 60 litres or less are emptied manually - bins of this style exceeding the 60 litre limit will not be emptied.
  • Any bin which is in a condition likely to cause injury will not be picked up.
  • We recommend that you number your rubbish bin(s) clearly to avoid a charge for someone else's extra garbage.

Excess Rubbish

Council also provides at no extra charge a Household extra waste and Green extra waste services fortnightly; this service is available to all residents by booking through the waste hotline on 1300 799 019.

Excess waste stickerFor occasional excess rubbish stickers are available from Council at a cost of $5 per 60 litre bin. These stickers must be attached to the extra bin or it will not be emptied. Flat or unit dwellers sharing a 240 litre mobile bin are required to buy four stickers totalling $16 per extra 240 litre mobile bin service. 

For permanent excess rubbishowners of properties may request a collection in return for an additional fee. Please apply using this form:
