Stanton Library and North Sydney Council are pleased to announce the winners of the 22nd annual Bill Coppell Young Writers' Award.

2011's entries were judged by a panel of professional writers: popular children's author Duncan Ball; playwright and current Writer in Residence at Don Bank Museum, Justin Fleming; writer and editor Lachlan Jobbins; celebrated author William Kostakis; and local author Ceridwen Dovey who herself was awarded a prize for a poem she wrote for the Young Writers' Award in 1998.

The total prize value, worth more than $2000, is sponsored by: North Sydney Council, Taronga Zoo, local artist Sandy Shilansky, Encyclopedia Britannica, the Ensemble Theatre, and the Historic Houses Trust. The major prize of an artwork for the 16-18 years category is donated by Joan Dunnwald of Joan's Ridge St Gallery.
