Bushcare Christmas Party 2008Thanks to the ongoing help of Bushcare volunteers in North Sydney, our bushland health is getting better and better every year. Volunteers do lots of weed removal, learn to identify native plants, create piles for burning, more weeding, and sometimes mulch and plant on 12 sites throughout the North Sydney area. It can be hard work, but the enjoyment of meeting like-minded individuals and making a difference is a great experience. In December each year North Sydney Council thanks the active volunteers for their contribution, and exceptional volunteers are given prizes donated by local businessess. This is a fun celebration with up to 200 committed local residents attending. Any local business, large or small is invited to donate a prize for a deserving volunteer. The supporting businesses are: - Announced and thanked when prizes are distributed,
- businesses are also listed in the Bushcare Newsletter (distributed to over 500 local residents), and
- advertised in the Mosman Daily.
