North Sydney Council worked with the community in developing the plans for Centre for Sustainability at the Coal Loader Site on Balls Head Road, Waverton. The Centre (from July 2011) showcases a range of sustainability features including solar hot water, solar photovoltaics, rainwater reuse, composting and recycled building materials - and functions as a sustainability resource space. Local residents and community groups are encouraged to utilise the centre resources and partner with Council in the delivery of sustainable living workshops and events.
