North Sydney has two types of meters located throughout the Local Government Area (LGA) - Pay & Go meters and the Pay & Display meters. All North Sydney meters accept payment by coin, credit card and mobile phone.

RSV2 Parking MeterPAY & GO

North Sydney has 423 Pay & Go parking meters located throughout the Local Government Area.

These meters are NOT Pay & Display meters and therefore do not issue tickets or receipts.

Features of Pay & Go meters include:

  1. Payment by coin ($1, $2, 50c, 20c, 10c), credit card (Visa, Diners, MasterCard and AMEX) and mobile phone (mPARK). All payments are GST inclusive.
  2. Motorist's payment time is stored within the meter and the time can be viewed on the screen by entering the bay number. Therefore NO tickets or receipts are issued.
  3. The Pay & Go parking meter is known as a multi-bay or multi-space parking meter. This means that each Pay & Go meter will have an assigned number of car spaces, also known as bays.

    Each bay or car space will have a number painted (red number plus an arrow inside a yellow box) on the footpath/verge/roadway to indicate the allocated bay number for the parking meter. The red arrow next to the number inside the yellow box indicates the direction to the parking meter.

MX Parking MeterPAY & DISPLAY

North Sydney Council has only 6 Pay & Display parking meters. They are all located in the 90 degree angle parking in Alfred Street South, Milsons Point.

Features of Pay & Display meters include:

  1. Payment by coin ($1, $2, 50c, 20c, 10c), credit card(Visa, Diners, MasterCard or AMEX) and mobile phone(mPARK). All payments are GST inclusive.
  2. Pay and Display - they print a ticket for motorists to place on their dashboard.
  3. Anti-vandalism features.
  4. Monitoring via a communications system, which automatically reports on any faults.
  5. Park & Swim Scheme.
