North Sydney Council LEP & DCP Planning Review 2008

North Sydney Council is currently undertaking a review of its local environmental plan (LEP) and development control plan (DCP) in response to planning reforms initiated by the State Government.

The Review provides Council with the opportunity to revise its current LEP and DCP to help ensure future development is sustainable, well designed and compatible with local character.

Community Consultation

On 5 February 2007 Council adopted the Community Consultation Plan for the preparation of the new comprehensive LEP. This strategy established a framework for appropriate consultation with all relevant stakeholders in the process.

Since then Council's planning staff has undertaken extensive pre-statutory consultation with Councillors and community to help inform the content of North Sydney's new draft LEP and DCP.

Council will provide further opportunity for the community to comment on the draft comprehensive LEP and DCP when the draft plans are placed on public exhibition.
