Community Forums
The forums are presented in conjunction with the North Sydney Precinct System. Precinct Committees are made up of residents, property and business owners, workers and students of the local area. Council regards the Precincts as representative bodies and values their ideas and feedback. Council is currently evaluating this pilot project. Results of the evaluation will be published here in the near future. For more information contact Council's Community Engagement Coordinator on 9936 8100 or email precincts@northsydney.nsw.gov.au Community Forums - 2008/09Victoria - 16 June 2009 The fourth and final forum in the pilot series was held on 16 June in the Hutley Hall, Council Chambers. The forum allowed residents of Victoria Ward (covering parts of Kirribilli, Neutral Bay, Milson Point, Lavender Bay and North Sydney) to find about key local projects happening, including the Bradfield Park upgrade, local parking management issues, CBD Precinct (should it be reactivated?), Milson Park community garden and an update from a local Precinct Committee. Participants also had the opportunity to information with other residents and meet their Ward Councillors. Cremorne - 31 March 2009 The third forum in the pilot series was held on 31 March in the Hutley Hall, Council Chambers. The forum allowed residents of Cremorne Ward (covering parts of Cremorne, Cremorne Point and Neutral Bay) to find about key local projects happening, including the Cremorne Point Foreshore Walk footpath upgrade, local parking and traffic management issues, community sustainability initiatives including the Climate Challenge and Green Business Energy Saving Program and an update on the activities of the Cremorne Point Bushcare Group. Participants also had the opportunity to information with other residents and meet their Ward Councillors. Wollstonecraft - 21 October 2008 The second forum in the pilot services was held on 21 October at Crows Nest Community Centre. The forum allowed residents of Wollstonecraft Ward (covering parts of Crows Nest, Wollstonecraft, Waverton and North Sydney) to find out about key local projects including the Coal Loader/Caltex parklands and facilities, Council's Open Space Provision Strategy and the Men's Shed and Community Garden projects, and share information with other residents and meet their Ward Councillors. Tunks - 17 June 2008 The first of the pilot forums was held on 17 June at Cammeray Public School. The forum allowed residents of Tunks Ward (covering parts of Crows Nest, Cammeray, Neutral Bay and Cremorne) to find out about key local projects including the Cammeray Dam water re-use project, Tunks Park and Long Bay boat facilities, the Cammeray Skate Plaza, and share information with other residents and meet their Ward Councillors.
