Aged and Disability Services

North Sydney Council provides the following Aged and Disability Services:

  • Community Worker - aged and disability.
  • Provides information about services for older people.
  • Provides advocacy and referral where required.
  • Monitors service requests and identify gaps in community services for older people and people with disabilities.
  • Provides input into home and community care triennial planning.
  • Provides assistance to people who are homeless or in housing need.
  • Resources the Community Access & Safety Reference Group
  • Coordinates the Disability Discrimination Action Plan

Community Centre Services

Most of the day-to-day activities occur in our network of: > Community Centres

Community Centres are a vital part of community life in North Sydney. They are independent not-for-profit organisations which receive funding and other assistance from North Sydney Council. They provide home support services for people with disabilities and the frail-aged. The Crows Nest Centre provides specialist services in the following categories:

  • meals on wheels
  • individual transport
  • linen service
  • shopping assistance
  • social activities
  • volunteering opportunities and support
  • > community transport

Home Library Service

This service is available to people who are unable to come in to the Stanton Library because of age or disability.
