Date: 10am - 2pm, Saturday 24 Oct 2009 Venue: Civic Park, North Sydney Address: cnr Miller & McLaren Sts FREE parking in Ridge St Car Park North Sydney Council's free Children's Festival coincides with Children's Week each year. Prepare to be creeped out at this year's North Sydney Children's Festival. Creepy Crawlie is the festival theme and Civic Park will come alive with activities centred on insects, bugs and the natural environment. Children will have the opportunity to learn more about their six-legged friends at the Reptiles Up Close and Rangers on the Run stall. The popular Kindifarm and Reptiles Up Close will also be there. In keeping with the theme, the well-known and colourful Jitterbugs will sing and dance up a storm on centre stage, while providing educational information on the importance of spiders, ladybirds, bees and butterflies in the food chain. Active Kidz will encourage the children to join in some funky keep-fit exercises, while local music and dance groups from North Sydney Girls High School,TheJazz Workshop, All Stars Performing Arts and Centrestage Academy, will be featured on the day. Luna Park will be sending their mascots Luna Bob & Luna Belle and there are family passes to give away from Luna Park, the Big Four Caravan Parks, Sydney Aquarium, Katrina Christ Photography, The Imax Theatre & Taronga Zoo. Robinson's Balloons and Fairy Wishes will be available throughout the day to create balloon sculptures and paint faces. The children have great fun and, for example, can see: - live entertainment
