North Sydney Centre Capacity and Land Use Study
The North Sydney Centre Capacity and Land Use Strategy forms part of Council’s North Sydney Centre Planning Review, initiated in 2014.
The Strategy aims primarily to develop a framework to unlock additional commercial floor space capacity within the North Sydney CBD, thereby ensuring it maintains and improves its status as a resilient and competitive economic centre.
The Strategy proposes a number of recommendations and details the appropriate implementation mechanism for each.
The Strategy is informed by the North Sydney Centre Capacity and Land Use Study, which was publicly exhibited in November / December 2016. A post-exhibition report was adopted by Council at its meeting on 20 March 2017. The report and resolution, including the Study document itself, can be downloaded here:

The Capacity and Land Use Strategy was adopted by Council at its meeting on 1 May 2017. The report and resolution can be downloaded here:
North Sydney CBD Capacity and Land Use Strategy and Planning Proposal (12MB)
The adopted Strategy does not represent proposed amendments to North Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2013. The 1 May 2017 report and resolution includes a planning proposal to amend LEP 2013 to give effect to the Strategy. The planning proposal will be publicly exhibited should the Department of Planning and Environment issue a gateway determination allowing Council to do so.
