As part of the Open Space Asset Condition report MacCallum Pool at Cremorne Point was scheduled for some renovation works during the cooler months
Council engaged consultants whom undertook a detailed inspection of the original pool shell, harbourside shotcrete encasement, boardwalk decking (including underside), timber piles, sandstone piers, fencing, and surrounding landscaping on 12 November 2019.
Based on the findings of this report a decision was made to replace the entire deck structure and repair /replace the damaged piers and piles.
Whilst the pool is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions it is an opportunity to bring these works forward to minimise the closure time. Works on the deck is expected to be finished in July 2020.
