Australia Day Community Awards 2018

We're celebrating our unsung heroes on Australia Day!

Each year, North Sydney Council asks you to nominate people who make a difference in our community. They could be sports coaches, charity volunteers or someone who everyone in the neighbourhood turns to when they need a helping hand.

The award categories are:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event or Community Group of the Year

The winners will be announced on Australia Day, 26 January 2018.

Citizen of the Year:   Bryce Gunn

As the volunteer President of Greenway Tenants Group Incorporated, Bryce Gunn has provided proactive and inspirational leadership to the staff and residents of Greenway, the largest public housing estate in North Sydney. During his tenure as President, Bryce and his team of dedicated volunteer staff have worked tirelessly to implement initiatives which markedly improved Greenway’s funding, facilities, resident services, and community reach. These extraordinary achievements have greatly enhanced the perception and appearance of Greenway, improved the life of residents and created a strong sense of community.
