Exhibition Dates 11-26 March 2017
Venue The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, 2 Balls Head Drive, Waverton
The North Sydney Art Prize is a major biennial arts event which showcases some of the best in contemporary art with indoor and outdoor works by emerging, mid-career and established artists from across Australia.
There were 88 finalists selected from an astonishing 360 entries - paintings, works on paper, sculpture, installations and digital works were exhibited in the Caretakers Cottage, artist studio, workshop, mess hall, tunnels, chambers and throughout the surrounding parklands at the iconic Coal Loader in Waverton.
This was the first time nine chambers located next to Tunnel One were used to exhibit site-specific and digital works. The chambers and tunnels offered a unique experience for both artists and visitors.
The exhibition period included a Public Program of artist talks and free community art workshops, offering a range of creative opportunities for all ages.
