Ever wanted to start your own food garden but simply don’t have the space?
North Sydney Council is inviting residents living in apartments to register their interest in Harvest Collective: An Apartment Approach to Sustainable Food before 6 November.
Harvest Collective aims to help residents living in an apartment block to develop a communal food garden with their neighbours. Participants will be provided with a series of onsite apartment gardening workshops and ongoing expert horticultural support to ensure the garden gets up and running in no time.
Previously, the Harvest programme has focused on helping individual residents to build their own food garden. But in 2018, Council will assist five apartment stratas to create a shared and social space to help neighbours learn from each other and grow and harvest their own food, collectively.
Council will select residents from five apartment buildings based on their ability to involve others and to develop a food garden on-site at their building. Depending on the space available, residents can grow anything from herbs to tomatoes, vegetables and fresh fruit.
Complete the EOI to register your interest in this programme. EOI closes on Monday November 6th, 2017.
