Council elections Saturday 9 September 2017

The NSW Electoral Commission has advised that elections for North Sydney Council are scheduled to take place on 9 September 2017.

For up to date information, please visit http://www.votensw.info/

Voting is compulsory in areas where elections are being held.

Non-residential Roll

Business owners who lease or own rateable land in Council’s LGA can vote in the election by registering on the non-residential roll.

A corporation is also entitled to nominate a person to appear on the roll on behalf of the corporation.

If a person is on the residential roll for the same council/ward, they cannot also register on the non-residential roll for that area. Non-residential rolls lapse after each Local Government election and you need to reapply if you wish to be included on the 2017 roll.

A person/corporation is not entitled to more than one vote in any council area, even if the person/corporation is a multiple owner, occupier or lessee.

An owner of rateable land in the council/ward or an occupier or rate paying lessee of rateable land in the council/ward  may also apply to be included on the non-residential roll.

It is not compulsory to vote for those enrolled on the non-residential roll (except in the City of Sydney Council).

Business owners or ratepayers who wish to be included on the non-residential roll can apply by completing the relevant application form.

Non-residential Roll Individual Application (31KB)

Non-residential Roll Nominee Application (36KB)
