Coal Loader Community Nursery, Waverton

The Coal Loader Community Nursery Group was initiated in 2012, after the establishment of the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, to produce local native plants for the rehabilitation of Council's Bushland Reserves and to support the Bushcare Programs.

Volunteers meet on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. They assist the Community Nursery Coordinator to undertake a variety of tasks including; sorting seed, producing cuttings, potting-up stock and maintaining the nursery facilities. Volunteers receive training and are invited to special events through out the year. Contact the Community Nursery Coordinator or Bushcare Officer on 9936 8100 to get involved.

*** Please note volunteer participation is restricted to 4 people at the Coal Loader Community Nursery in order to maintain social distancing at this facility, due to safety concerns related to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Please contact the Group Convenor to help us manage group numbers and to abide by the Federal Governments directive. Participation will be scheduled on a rotating basis should there be more interest than places available.
