This webinar is proudly presented by the North Sydney Council Sustainability Team.
Venetia runs a one-acre market garden, The Good Natured Garden, at The Farm in Byron Bay.
Also, she's Chapter Coordinator for Young Farmers Connect in the Northern Rivers.
Before becoming a full-time grower in 2019, Venetia lived in Cremorne and worked as a lawyer with a not-for-profit children’s charity.
In 2017 she participated in Council's Harvest Collective North Sydney program, which introduced her to the skills of backyard food production and composting which inspired her to start a composting hub for her local community.
After studying a graduate certificate in Permaculture at Central Queensland University, Venetia is now a first-generation farmer and passionate advocate for small-scale holistic food systems that align with ecological function.
Her ambition is to engage anyone with an interest in food and farming with opportunities to reconnect with the earth, learn how to feed themselves and participate in the local food economy.
Join us a we sit down with Venetia to talk about her story and journey from North Sydney to Byron, learn more about her market garden and agroecology, and find out how individually and collectively we can change our local food economy.
