Nan Manefield YWA

Celebrating 30 years of showcasing young talent!

The Nan Manefield Young Writers Award is an annual writing prize overseen by Stanton Library and North Sydney Council (and has been going for 30+ years).

The Nan Manefield Young Writers Award

Young people, aged between 11 and 18 years, are invited to submit either a poem or short story of up to 750 words. Then the competition is judged in five age categories by a panel of professional writers and has prizes totaling over $2,000.

All winners will also be offered the opportunity to attend a special writers masterclass.

All are welcome to join us for the Awards - at Stanton Library - hear the winning stories, meet the judges and listen to a panel of winners discussing their writing and inspiration.

Entries usually open in February, close in April, and in May is the awards ceremony.
