Local author Millie Jackson has recently released her first novel A North Shore Buddhist which tells the story of young country woman Jackie who moves to the big smoke in search of Mr Right and the meaning of life. Far from a smooth journey Jackie's search is filled with devastation, trauma and delusion which is ultimately life altering.
In conversation Millie and Pamela Nelson will weave the story of Jackie's life altering journey with the challenges life throws and how these challenges can impact one's overall health.
Join Millie and Pamela in a chat about issues such as eating disorders, the impact social media has on body image, dieting and diet trends, and offerings of nutritional advice.

About the Speakers
Millie Jackson writes novels and short stories that feature an honest exploration of contemporary issues. Whilst she often uses a humorous approach in her writing, she also delves into the difficult topics of addiction, domestic violence, eating disorders and spirituality. She has two short stories that will be published in an up and coming anthology in Spring 2020, featuring the works of the Stanton Writers Group groups.
Her debut novel, ‘A North Shore Buddhist,’ was launched at the Stanton in December 2019.
Millie has an active interest in physical and mental health, surrounding herself with like-minded people. She also continues to explore the impact of addiction and lack of connection on the family unit in today’s society.
Pamela Nelson is a qualified practicing Naturopath, Clinical Nutritionist and Herbalist based on Sydney’s North Shore.
She aims to help her clients improve their overall health through guidance with nutritionally sound diet choices, appropriate exercise, adjustments in lifestyle, and the use of herbal medicine or nutritional supplements where appropriate. Her goals include helping clients to prevent sickness where possible, minimizing the effects of illnesses should they occur, and providing tools to help with recovery.
Pamela likes to help clients balance all areas of their lives and her areas of interest include stress and anxiety management, sleep issues, allergies and food intolerances, and digestive problems.
Pamela is a member of the professional bodies Australian Traditional - Medicine Society and Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia
