Writers @ Stanton: Hugh White
Venue: Stanton Library
Our region is experiencing a momentous transition. The US-led order is fading, and China has become ever more powerful. In the controversial and gripping Quarterly Essay ‘Without America: Australia in the new Asia’, Hugh White looks at what has happened to the US globally. He considers China’s growing assertiveness in our region, dissects the leadership of Donald Trump and analyses what all of this means for Australia. Above all, he asks: where is this heading? How do we feel about living in a new Asia, and how best to navigate a changed world?
The author talk is followed by question time and the opportunity for book signing.
There is seating for 100 people and standing room is available.
Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
