Venue: Stanton Library
This event has been cancelled
In ‘Semut’, anthropologist Christine Helliwell has recorded an astonishingly vivid account of how sixty ordinary men - mostly Australian - won over the indigenous Borneo Dayak people to the Allied cause, and together with them cleared the Japanese from large inland areas of Borneo in the final months of WW2.
Christine Helliwell is an anthropologist, author and academic, currently Emeritus Professor at the Australian National University in Canberra.
