Lavender Bay Wharf & Peter Kingston Walkway Reconstruction

Due Completion: 31 March 2017

The Lavender Bay Wharf and Peter Kingston Walkway on the foreshores of Lavender Bay were originally constructed over 20 years ago and are now in need of urgent reconstruction as a significant number of the timber elements in the wharf and boardwalk have reached the end of their asset lives and need replacement.

The works will comprise the removal and replacement of damaged timber piles, capwhales, girders and other associated works. The timber decking on the wharves and the boardwalk will also be replaced.

Work will commence at the eastern end of the Peter Kingston Walkway (the Luna Park end) on Wednesday 2 November 2016. A temporary walkway platform around the construction area will be provided to maintain pedestrian access along the boardwalk during the work.  This temporary walkway will be situated on the waterside of the current boardwalk and will be moved each time the work progresses until completion of the project.

Construction works are due to be completed by the end of March 2017.
