The Woolcott Street, Streets Alive patch is located near the corner of Woolcott Street and Euroka Street at Waverton.
A group of volunteer residents in partnership with North Sydney Council have transformed the degraded space into an attractive local park. Work on this patch started in March 2018 after a large fig tree fell across Woolcott Street, leaving a bare and unsightly area of public land.
The plants are all endemic to the North Sydney area, with the aim of providing habitat for native birds and animals.
A lot of residents and visitors walk past the patch as it leads to popular walking and sightseeing areas such as Waverton Park and Balls Head Reserve.
The group is always looking for more volunteers!
