Small Items Recycling

Council has some better ways with waste: and recycling offers possibilities beyond landfill...

Plastic Bags

Since soft plastics don't go in recycling, you can now take those bread bags, biscuit packets, rice and pasta bags, newspaper wrap and plastic shopping bags to participating Coles and Woolworths, stores, check here http://redcycle.net.au/redcycle/locator

Or bring your soft plastics into Customer Service here at Council or to the Coal Loader in Waverton and place them in our REDcycle bins.

Batteries

You can recycle batteries also at Council, Coal Loader, Stanton Library, and the Community Recycling Centre (CRC), we take

  • AA, AAA, C, DD and 9v smoke alarm batteries
  • laptop, mobile phone, camera batteries
  • cordless phone and rechargeable batteries
  • UPS, VRLA, and SLA batteries.

Corks

Can be recycled at the Coal Loader where there is a collection bin.

Lightbulbs

Recycle your flourescent tubes or compact flourescent lightbulbs at the Coal Loader, and the CRC

Mobile Phones
