Council has established a Section 10A Committee which will provide a structured forum for the detailed consideration of matters that may be dealt with in closed sessions.
The Committee will meet as required to:
- review matters proposed to be considered under section 10A of the Local Government Act 1993;
- assess whether confidentiality is appropriate and proportionate; and
- provide recommendations to Council for determination.
The Committee will not replace Council’s decision-making role, but will strengthen governance, consistency and confidence in the handling of confidential matters.
