How to get there

  • No on-site parking is available at any event site. Attendees must use public transport, nearest train stations vary by location (Milsons Point, North Sydney, and Victoria Cross Metro).
  • Major road closures and clearways will be in place. Closures begin from 7pm on 30 December 2025 and major closures in place from 5pm 31 December 2025 until 4am 1 January 2026.
  • Limited ferries will be available with a restricted schedule for all wharves
  • Leaving - after the midnight fireworks, expect pedestrian diversions and crowd control measures, particularly at Milsons Point station. Please be patient and follow the instructions of staff.

Getting home from North Sydney
 

Public transport 

  • Public transport is running to an enhanced timetable throughout the event period. Please note that usual timetables and routes may be changed for the event. 

  • Road closures will be in place around transport hubs to enable the safe movement of crowds. 

  • Buses will be diverted around the road closures and bus stops may be relocated. 

  • North Sydney Council encourages residents and their guests to travel via public transport. 

  • Please note that various wharf closures will be in place, with some beginning from 8pm on 30 December. This includes McMahons Point Wharf (closing 10am 31 Dec) and Milsons Point Wharf (closing 2pm 31 Dec) 
     

Pedestrian access and crowd control 

Please note that specific streets and areas will be under restricted access to ensure public safety, with fences installed and security/police present to enforce this. This includes areas around Blues Point, Bradfield Park and Lavender Bay. 

NSW Police Force and event wayfinding security may close access to streets at certain times for public safety as different areas reach capacity. Residents and business patrons may also be redirected to take a different route than usual. Follow directions of Security, Wayfinding staff and NSW Police at all times. 

Other important Information 

  • By law, no one is allowed to climb street awnings or buildings or to damage personal/private property. Any infractions or concerns should be reported to NSW Police. 

  • If you intend to use the balcony at your home to watch the fireworks, please do not overload the balcony area.  

  • Roads and/or footpaths may be closed at any time by NSW Police if required for public safety. Please follow directions. 

  • Celebrate sustainably. Help protect our environment by avoiding garden beds and bushland and taking all rubbish with you or placing in the bins provided. 
  • Respect residents and be mindful of private property, particularly those that join onto vantage points.
