How to get there
- No on-site parking is available at any event site. Attendees must use public transport, nearest train stations vary by location (Milsons Point, North Sydney, and Victoria Cross Metro).
- Major road closures and clearways will be in place. Closures begin from 7pm on 30 December 2025 and major closures in place from 5pm 31 December 2025 until 4am 1 January 2026.
- Limited ferries will be available with a restricted schedule for all wharves
- Leaving - after the midnight fireworks, expect pedestrian diversions and crowd control measures, particularly at Milsons Point station. Please be patient and follow the instructions of staff.

Public transport is running to an enhanced timetable throughout the event period. Please note that usual timetables and routes may be changed for the event.

Road closures will be in place around transport hubs to enable the safe movement of crowds.

Buses will be diverted around the road closures and bus stops may be relocated.

North Sydney Council encourages residents and their guests to travel via public transport.

Please note that various wharf closures will be in place, with some beginning from 8pm on 30 December. This includes McMahons Point Wharf (closing 10am 31 Dec) and Milsons Point Wharf (closing 2pm 31 Dec)
Pedestrian access and crowd control
Please note that specific streets and areas will be under restricted access to ensure public safety, with fences installed and security/police present to enforce this. This includes areas around Blues Point, Bradfield Park and Lavender Bay.
NSW Police Force and event wayfinding security may close access to streets at certain times for public safety as different areas reach capacity. Residents and business patrons may also be redirected to take a different route than usual. Follow directions of Security, Wayfinding staff and NSW Police at all times.
Other important Information

By law, no one is allowed to climb street awnings or buildings or to damage personal/private property. Any infractions or concerns should be reported to NSW Police.

If you intend to use the balcony at your home to watch the fireworks, please do not overload the balcony area.

Roads and/or footpaths may be closed at any time by NSW Police if required for public safety. Please follow directions.
- Celebrate sustainably. Help protect our environment by avoiding garden beds and bushland and taking all rubbish with you or placing in the bins provided.
- Respect residents and be mindful of private property, particularly those that join onto vantage points.

Road closures and special event clearways
Major road closures and clearways will be in place. Closures begin from 7pm on Tuesday 30 December 2025 and major closures in place from 5pm Wednesday 31 December 2025 until 4am Thursday 1 January 2026.
Key roads include Blues Point Road, Lavender St, Alfred St, Broughton St, Olympic Boulevard, Blue Street, Miller St, Berry St & Pacific Highway. Vehicle access including bicycles will be restricted during road closures. Access to carparks within the road closures will not be permitted at any time.
Reverse traffic flow on certain streets may be implemented to accommodate vehicle egress. Please always check signs and follow directions.
Clearways will be in effect and are strict no parking zones that apply to all vehicles including local residents and Transport for NSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully, especially the night before NYE as some clearways come into effect early the next morning.
Vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.

Road closure information:
Kurraba and Cremorne
Full road closure & clearway information for New Year’s Eve is available at transportnsw.info
Access roads into Kurraba Point and Cremorne Point peninsulas will close at 5pm on Wednesday 31 December. Police may allow resident access until 8pm at their discretion. The closed roads are:
- Kurraba Rd, east of Wycombe Rd
- Wallaringa Ave, south of Lower Wycombe Rd
- Shellcove Rd, south of Harriette St
- Murdoch St, south of Bannerman St
- Iredale Ave
All other local roads close at 5pm on Wednesday 31 December.
Residents should not use their vehicles after 5pm. You must present photo ID with your residential address to gain access through a road closure area, and Police or traffic controllers may deny access at any time to protect public safety if crowds are present.
If you are returning home after midnight, you will not be able to access your property by vehicle until the roads are re-opened.
Kirribilli and Milsons Point

Fitzroy St, Northcliff St, Burton St Tunnel, Alfred St South (south of Dind St) – 6am, Wednesday, 31 December to 3am, Thursday 1 January.

Alfred St South (north of Dind St), Lavender St, Middlemiss St, Ennis Rd, and Broughton St (north of Fitzroy St) – 1pm, Wednesday 31 December to 3am, Thursday 1 January.
Residents travelling to Kirribilli will need to use alternative routes due to the closure of Pacific Hwy southbound from 5pm. To reduce congestion, vehicle access to Kirribilli will be restricted to residents only.

Southbound traffic: from 5pm on New Year’s Eve, Pacific Hwy will be closed at Berry St – no access to High St. Use Falcon St and Military Rd to access the northern end of Kirribilli.

Northbound traffic: residents travelling northbound off the Sydney Harbour Bridge will always have access to Kirribilli via High St.

NYE 2025 - Blues Point Resident Letter
Special event clearways will be in place across the North Sydney local government area. They include:

Blues Point Rd, south of Warung St, and Henry Lawson Ave – 6pm, 30 December to 3am,

Blues Point Rd, south of Mil Mil St – 6am, 31 December to 3am, 1 January.

Blues Point Rd, Lavender, Middlemiss, and Blue Sts – 1pm, 31 December to 3am, 1 January.

Harbourview Crescent – 6am, 31 December to 3am, 1 January. Lavender Cres will be a work zone with no parking from 7pm, 30 December to 3am, 1 January.
Blues Point Rd, south of Warung St, and Henry Lawson Ave will close at 7pm on 30 December. Vehicle access will be permitted only for drop-off by taxi, hire car, or vehicles with a valid disability permit, as well as residents of Harbourside Apts, 6-8 Henry Lawson Ave, Westbridge Apts, and Blues Point Tower. No vehicle access from 7am on 31 December.
Blues Point Rd, south of French St, McManus St, and West Crescent St will close at 8am on 31 December with no vehicle access.
Warung, Parker, East Crescent, Middle, Bay View, Waiwera Sts, and Wellington Ln will close at 8am on 31 December. All other roads will close at 5pm. Resident vehicle access will be allowed until 5pm via King Georges St, with return to properties allowed until 6pm with photo ID showing residential address.
Lavender Cres will close at 7pm on 30 December. Resident access for drop-offs and off street parking will be available until 7am on 31 December.
Harbourview Cres will close at 8am on 31 December. Resident vehicle access will be allowed until approx 5pm, with return to properties allowed with photo ID showing residential address. Blue St will close at 3pm and Middlemiss St at 5pm on 31 December.
No resident vehicle access will be allowed after those times.

Waverton

A special event clearway will be in place on Larkin St from 1pm on 31 December. Special event clearways will also be in place across other parts of the North Sydney local government area.
Access roads into the Waverton Peninsula will close at 5pm on 31 December. They are:
