Apply for a new permit
Before You Start
Before submitting a new application, make sure you have reviewed the 'Before you apply – New Applications' and prepared the required documents.
Incomplete applications may be delayed, or Council may request further information before the application can be assessed.
Submit Your application
To apply for a new outdoor dining or goods display permit, complete the Outdoor Dining and/or Goods Display New Application Form and provide the required supporting documents.
After your application is lodged, the application fee will be requested.
Applications can be submitted to Council in person at Council Chambers or via email to council@northsydney.nsw.gov.au
If Your Application Is Approved
If your application is approved, Council will advise you of the outcome and any conditions that apply.
Before a permit is issued, you will be required to:
- sign a licence agreement
- pay the required bond (the greater of $1,000 or three months licence fees) and 1 month's licence fee
Do Not Operate Until Your Permit Is Issued
You must not place outdoor dining furniture, goods for display, or related equipment on the footpath or public place until Council has approved the application, the licence agreement has been signed, bond and first month licence fee has been paid, and you have taken delivery of the permit.
Operating without a valid permit, or outside the approved permit area or conditions, may result in compliance action.
