We’re excited to bring you a new, easier-to-use catalogue and library system! The upgrade is happening across the whole Shorelink Libraries network, including Stanton, Mosman, Lane Cove, Greenwich, St Leonards Libraries and The Yarn at Hunters Hill.
From Tuesday 29 September, you will have a simpler and more personalised way to search, discover and manage your library account. The new system will make it easier to:
- search for different formats of the same title
- discover similar titles and staff recommendations
- manage your account, including SMS notifications for when your holds are ready
- create, save and share reading lists, and much more!
Key dates
- Now – 12 September: All operations running as normal
- Sunday 13 September (from 5pm) – Monday 28 September: Our current system will go offline for the changeover, including catalogue services and the library app. Stanton Library remains open for borrowing at the customer service desk.
- Tuesday 29 September: Your new catalogue launches!
What will happen during the changeover?
During the upgrade period, the below services and technologies will be unavailable:
- accessing your library account
- managing your holds and renewals
- self-check kiosks and automated return shelves
- the Stanton Library app.
The changeover applies across all Shorelink Libraries, so these services will also be unavailable at Lane Cove, St Leonards and Mosman Libraries during the same period.
Library staff will also have limited access to loan, hold and account information.
We encourage you to return your items after the scheduled launch on Tuesday 29 September. We’ve extended loan periods so there’s no rush to return your items, and nothing will be due during the changeover.

Frequently asked questions
- When will the library system be unavailable?
Our current library system will be offline from 5pm on Sunday 13 September until Monday 28 September. The new system and catalogue will launch on Tuesday 29 September.
Stanton Library will remain open during its regular hours, although some library services will operate differently during the changeover.
- Can I still borrow?
Yes. You can still borrow items at the customer service desk during regular opening hours.
Please bring your physical library card or have your library card number ready. The Stanton Library app will be unavailable during the changeover and staff will have limited access to account information.
Self-check kiosks will also be unavailable during this period.
- Can I use the catalogue?
Yes, but for searching only.
The existing catalogue will remain available to search during the changeover, but it will not be updated. This means an item's availability or status may not be accurate.
You will not be able to log in to your account, place holds or renew items until the new catalogue launches on Tuesday 29 September.
- Can I return or renew my items?
There’s no rush to return your loans. If you can, please hold onto your items until the new system launches on Tuesday 29 September.
We’ve extended loan periods so and nothing will be due during the changeover.
You will not be able to renew items while the system is offline.
- What will happen to my account?
You don’t need to do anything! Your account details, current loans, holds and reading history will automatically transfer to the new system.
Your password will stay the same. From Tuesday 29 September, simply log in to the new catalogue using your library card number and PIN/password.
- Will the Stanton Library app be available?
The Stanton Library app will be unavailable during the changeover. This includes catalogue searching, account management and access to your digital library card.
Once the new system launches, you will need to log back in to the app using your library card number and PIN/password.
- Does this affect Mosman and Lane Cove libraries?
Yes. The system will be offline across the Shorelink Libraries network from 5pm on Sunday 13 September until the new catalogue launches on Tuesday 29 September.
Affected libraries include Stanton Library, Mosman Library and Lane Cove Libraries (Lane Cove, Greenwich, St Leonards and The Yarn at Hunters Hill) as all locations are upgrading at the same time.
