Reports to Council
Extraordinary Meeting Scheduled – 19 January 2026
An Extraordinary Meeting will be held at 7pm on 19 January 2026 to consider a report regarding a proposed special rate variation. A public forum will be held at 6pm prior to the extraordinary meeting.
Code of Meeting Practice – post-exhibition report
Council will adopt the North Sydney Draft Code of Meeting Practice. A public forum will be held prior and separate to each Council meeting.
North Sydney Olympic Pool Redevelopment Project Update
The forecasted practical completion date by Council’s contractor (Icon) is 5 January 2026. Council’s consultant Programmer is suggesting Practical Completion is more likely to occur mid-February.
Review of traffic conditions on Young Street, Neutral Bay
Following the completion of the Young Street Plaza works and the right-hand turn restrictions from Grosvenor Lane to Young Street, Council will undertake a review of current traffic conditions on Young Street.
Open Space Schedule of Rates Contract Tender Completed
Council has secured a panel of contractors for horticultural, irrigation, and turf services.
Cammeray Golf Club lease extension
Council agreed to extend its lease with Cammeray Golf Club Ltd until 30 September 2029. The extension aligns with Transport for NSW’s request to maintain the lease during the Warringah Freeway Upgrade.
Alfred Street North, Neutral Bay: reallocation of funding for critical works
Council reallocated $210,000 from the Footpath Renewal Program to address critical works required in Alfred Street North, Neutral Bay.
Funding rodent control in North Sydney Local Government Area
Council will incorporate budget adjustments in its quarterly reporting to cover the additional costs of ongoing rodent control. A report will also be prepared outlining the current use of poisons for pest management and identifying alternative methods to reduce and ultimately phase out their use.

Cancellation of school bus services serving schools within the North Sydney LGA
A motion was moved to write to the Minister for Transport seeking a review of the decision to cancel dedicated bus services on routes 640w, 642w, 644w, 645w, 646w, 650w, 652w, 662w, 776w and 792w, and reinstate those services in time for the commencement of the 2026 school year.
Continued loss of affordable housing to luxury apartments
A motion was passed for Council to write to the Premier, Minister for Housing, and Minister for Planning and Public Spaces in relation to rental affordability and call on the State Government to urgently review the Housing SEPP and Guidelines.
