North Sydney Council is excited to partner with the Heart Foundation’s Heart of the Nation program in 2026.

North Sydney Council is proud to support the Heart Foundation’s Heart of the Nation program in 2026. This program aims to improve survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest by empowering everyday people to act. As part of this, we’re bringing Shockingly Simple: CPR and AED awareness sessions to our community. These sessions teach the lifesaving steps: Call, Push, Shock because when someone collapses in cardiac arrest, every second counts.

We’re inviting volunteers to become Volunteer Community Trainers for these awareness sessions. Your role will be to help neighbours, local groups, and community members understand that you don’t need formal training to do CPR or use an AED. Anything you do is better than nothing.

About the role:

  • Flexible and rewarding: minimum two hours a month
  • Full training, support, and resources provided
  • Out-of-pocket costs covered
  • Ideal for confident communicators passionate about community health
  • A meaningful way to help save lives

This pilot starts here in North Sydney.

You’ll receive induction training and ongoing support to deliver safe, consistent, and engaging sessions.
