FREE Shockingly Simple: CPR and AED awareness session near you.
Every year, over 32,000 people in Australia have a sudden cardiac arrest. Most of them happen in everyday places, like homes, workplaces or sporting fields.
The Heart Foundation’s Heart of the Nation Program is coming to our community, with FREE events called “Shockingly Simple: CPR & AED awareness sessions”. These sessions can help you feel more confident and ready to act if someone nearby needs help.
At these practical, hands-on sessions, you’ll learn:
• How to recognise the signs of a cardiac arrest
• When and how to call Triple Zero (000)
• How to perform CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• How to use an AED (automated external defibrillator)
You don’t need any experience to take part, and it could make all the difference in a real emergency. These free sessions are led by a volunteer community trainer and supported by the Heart Foundation. Sessions will occur monthly at Fred Hutley Hall - North Sydney Council, and are free to attend.
