In response to community concerns about pedestrian safety, a new left-only turn will be implemented for vehicles exiting Grosvenor Lane to Young Street from Monday 19 January.
Council has introduced this left-only restriction for drivers exiting Grosvenor Lane to Young Street. This change will improve safety in the area and forms part of the broader Young Street Plaza upgrade.
The change was consulted with the community as part of the Young Street Plaza upgrade from May to June 2024. A total of 90 community members provided feedback, with the following results:
- 56% of respondents said they have not felt safe as a pedestrian on Grosvenor Lane
- 61% supported measures to reduce traffic down Grosvenor Lane
