Council met on Monday 9 February 2026 to consider a range of community, infrastructure, and planning matters.  

Minister's Intention to Revoke Crown Land Management by Council in Favour of Golf NSW 

Council responded to the Minister's notice to revoke care and control of Cammeray Park without community consultation. Council emphasised that North Sydney is one of the most densely populated in Australia, with population growth of 30% anticipated. Council will urge the Minister not to proceed without meaningful consultation and will seek urgent legal advice from Senior Counsel. Residents are encouraged to write to the Minister for Lands and Property, the Hon Stephen Kamper, MP to urge him to reconsider this proposal. 

Vale – Professor the Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AC CVO DBE 

Council paid tribute to Dame Marie Bashir (1930-2026), Governor of NSW (2001-2014), a distinguished psychiatrist and advocate for vulnerable communities, her exceptional contribution to NSW was recognised unanimously. 

Quarterly Review (July-September 2025) of Council’s Delivery Program 2025-2029 and Operational Plan 2025-2026 

From a total of 125 projects, 92 projects (74%) are on track. Council also noted strong performance across key indicators and that 54 (90%) were meeting or exceeding target.  

Investment and Loan Borrowings Report (as at 30 November & 31 December 2025) 

A financial update was provided detailing Council’s investment portfolio performance and loan positions to the end of 2025. View the report

Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan 

Council resolved to place the Draft Strategic Asset Management Plan on public exhibition for community feedback. The plan provides a framework for managing Council's infrastructure and assets over the next 10 years. 

Draft Use of Artificial Intelligence Policy - Post-Exhibition Report 

Council adopted the Use of Artificial Intelligence Policy following public exhibition.  

North Sydney Olympic Pool - Draft Fees and Charges Schedule 2025-26 

Council resolved to seek community feedback on proposed fees and charges. Councillors noted the request for parking concessions to be considered for residents.

Traffic Matters - Spofforth Street and Rangers Road, Cremorne - Response to Council Resolution 

Council resolved to write to Mosman Council seeking a meeting to address long-standing pedestrian safety concerns on Spofforth Street. A corridor-wide approach is required, with further updates to be provided on actions taken and inter-council collaboration.  

Traffic Committee meeting dates set for 2026  

Five meeting dates were adopted: 
• 10 April  
• 5 June  
• 31 July  
• 11 September  
• 6 November

Warringah Freeway Upgrade - TfNSW Proposal to Place Land Under Council's Care, Control, and Management 

Council considered Transport for NSW's proposal to place land associated with the Warringah Freeway Upgrade under Council's care, control, and management.
