North Sydney Council receives recognition for its ongoing efforts to improve its operations.

North Sydney Council has been named a finalist in three categories at the 2026 NSW Local Government Excellence Awards, recognising the organisation’s continued focus on improving how it works and delivers services to the community.

The finalist nominations reflect several years of steady improvement across Council, with a strong emphasis on customer service, stronger internal processes and better support for staff.

Over this period, Council has reviewed how services operate, improved systems and ways of working, and invested in staff capability and development. Together, these changes are helping to lift productivity, improve financial management and strengthen organisational performance.

Council has been recognised as a finalist in the following categories:

  • Customer Experience – Seamless by Design: A Customer First Transformation
  • Innovative Leadership – Empowered People, Informed Decisions (Service Reviews)
  • People, Workplace and Wellbeing – Personal Best

These nominations highlight the practical, behind-the-scenes work taking place across teams every day to improve how Council operates and how services are delivered to the North Sydney community.

“This recognition reflects the collective effort of our people to continuously improve the way we work,” a Council spokesperson said. “From service reviews to customer-focused design and staff wellbeing initiatives, these projects are about building a stronger, more effective organisation for our community.”

Council thanked the many staff members across the organisation whose commitment and collaboration have contributed to this achievement.

Winners of the 2026 NSW Local Government Excellence Awards will be announced later this year.
