North Sydney residents can access free, face-to-face mental health support at Stanton Library as part of the Lifeline Connect Libraries service.

Lifeline Connect is a free service offering immediate, one-off support from trained volunteers in a safe and welcoming environment. No appointment is needed and all conversations are confidential.

The service provides a discreet and accessible space where people can talk through challenges they may be experiencing, including loneliness, mental health concerns, relationship issues, housing stress and financial hardship. Volunteers can also connect people with local services and support networks for ongoing assistance.

As trusted community hubs, libraries are a natural place for people to seek information, connection or simply someone to talk to. The Lifeline Connect initiative builds on this by bringing experienced volunteers into these spaces to offer compassionate, non-judgemental support.

Since launching, Lifeline Connect has supported more than 1,000 people across the region and provided over 1,000 referrals to local services. The program reaches a broad cross-section of the community, including people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

In North Sydney, residents can access Lifeline Connect at:

Stanton Library, North Sydney
Tuesdays, 3pm–7pm
