North Sydney Council is inviting the community to help recognise the people who make a difference by sharing their stories.
Each year, the Community Awards celebrate the everyday contributions that help shape our neighbourhood. From volunteers and local changemakers to community groups bringing people together, the program highlights the impact individuals and groups have across North Sydney.
Behind every great neighbourhood are people making things happen in big and small ways. Whether it’s creating spaces for connection, supporting others, caring for the environment or strengthening community networks, these stories help show what makes North Sydney such a vibrant and welcoming place to live.
Community members are encouraged to put forward someone they believe deserves recognition. It could be a neighbour, a volunteer, a young person making a difference, or a project that brings people together. Every story submitted helps shine a light on the people contributing to the community in meaningful ways.
Stories submitted may be recognised through Council communications and as part of a community celebration later in the year, where individuals and groups are acknowledged for their contributions.
Submissions are open now and close on 15 July 2026.
