In force – Amendment No. 1 to the North Sydney Development Control Plan 2025 - Electrification of all new residential developments.
Notice is given that Amendment No. 1 to the North Sydney Development Control Plan (NSDCP) 2025 involving the electrification of all new residential developments comes into force on 1 July 2026.
At its meeting on 23 February 2026, Council resolved to adopt an amendment to the NSDCP 2025 to shift to all-electric homes in new residential developments by phasing out gas connections and gas appliances in new residential developments for environmental, health, and economic reasons. New provisions have been inserted into Section 10 – Environmental Sustainability of the NSDCP 2025.
