Project overview
North Sydney Council is seeking a gallery exhibition partner to deliver a collaborative exhibition program featuring artworks created by artists participating in Council’s Creative Studios Program. This partnership aligns with Council’s Culture and Creativity Strategy by supporting the delivery of diverse and accessible cultural experiences, increasing the number of spaces available for creative participation and production, and fostering partnerships with local organisations to deliver cultural initiatives.

We are looking for:
Access to a suitable gallery space located within the North Sydney Local Government Area for a minimum of two exhibitions (each approximately two weeks in duration), delivered between the period June 2026 and July 2027.
The gallery space should include:
- Professional hanging system
- Gallery lighting
- Capacity to present diverse contemporary artworks, including 2D, 3D, installation and audio-visual works
- Regular and consistent public opening hours, including weekdays and weekends
- Accessible amenities
We are looking for:

What Council offers:
- A project budget of $5,000 (ex GST)
- Support for an opening event and or public programs including artist talks, workshops, demonstrations or similar events
- A collaborative approach to exhibition planning and delivery
- Branding and recognition, including:
- Acknowledgement as an official Council exhibition partner
- Co-branded promotional materials (print and digital)
- Inclusion in Council communications and reporting
- Opportunity to contribute to local cultural and community development and the creative sector
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
To be eligible, it is essential that the gallery is situated within the North Sydney Local Government Area.
Eligble applications will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Suitability of gallery space and infrastructure – demonstrated capacity to host group exhibitions, including appropriate hanging systems, suitable lighting, space and infrastructure for 2D, 3D, installation and audio-visual works.
- Access and public availability – ability to regular and consistent public opening hours, including weekends, and ability to support broad community access. Includes accessible amenities.
- Capacity to deliver - demonstrated ability to work in partnership with a strong track record of delivering exhibitions and public programs.
- Availability and scheduling – confirmation of ability to accommodate two exhibition periods (approximately two weeks each) within the required timeframe (June 2026 – July 2027).
