The Need
Many retired men have had to downsize their living arrangements, often resulting in the loss of personal space, usually the garden shed or workshop.
So, the idea of a Community Shed was born.
Here, men can come, work with a fantastic variety of tools and spend time with other men with similar interests.
The North Sydney Men’s Shed
has been set up to provide a substitute space for “shedless blokes", but it encourages new social activity and some friendships along the way - the shed provides a link into local activities.
Activities
- member projects
- repairing items of furniture, toys etc
- one-off projects for local community needs as required
- comprehensive training on the safe use of power equipment.
Never used power tools? No problem: skilled members will show you how. So, whether you are an expert timber craftsman or a complete novice you will be welcome!
Donations
Donations of tools or materials are always welcome and very much appreciated. If you have something to donate please call the Shed Coordinator, Ted Day 0416 671 585.
Membership Numbers
Membership numbers are maintained by shed management at a level considered to be optimally safe under WHS Guidelines. Admission of new applicants will be based upon the working space available to members at the time.
