Join esteemed journalist, David Marr, who talks with historian Stephen Gapps, one of four editors who have compiled the book based on stories by black and white writers.

A new book – The Australian Wars – tells the story of the sweep of massacres and guerrilla warfare as Indigenous nations resisted colonial occupation of their lands, the role of weapons, tactics and disease, and the story of women on the frontier.

Conceived by Rachel Perkins following her award-winning documentary series on SBS, the book was co-edited with Stephen (previous winner of the NSW Premier’s History Award), Mina Murray and Henry Reynolds.
