Mary MacKillop Place is opening for its inaugural Christmas lights event, Hope Illuminated – Christmas at Mary MacKillop Place, from Thursday 11 – Sunday 14 December and again Thursday 18 – Sunday 21 December 2025.
This year marks a special moment in the life of Mary MacKillop Place as the site celebrates 30 years of welcoming visitors and pilgrims, and 15 years since Saint Mary MacKillop was canonised as Australia’s first Saint.
To honour these milestones, we invite the community to come together and celebrate the Christmas season.
Across two magical 4-night weekends, the precinct will be transformed into a radiant Christmas wonderland filled with light and community spirit.
This free, family-friendly event welcomes visitors to explore the grounds from 5:00pm – 9:30pm on the dates listed above.
