Create your own Japanese stab-bound zine in this fun and creative workshop with our Writer in Residence, Michiyo Miyake.
Learn the fundamentals of using the traditional kōki toji (noble binding) technique to create a handcrafted zine. Bring your creativity and anything you want to use in your zine to express your chosen theme; these can include poems, photographs, collage scraps, wrapping paper and any other materials.
About the presenter
Michiyo Miyake is our current Don Bank Writer in Residence. She is a writer, translator and independent publisher with a PhD in literature who was born in Japan and based in Sydney. She is active in the indie book and zine scene in both Australia and Japan.
