On Sunday 24 May 2026, Sydney will celebrate 25 years of its steepest charity challenge as the community gathers once again on Awaba Street, Mosman for the Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn. The iconic 420 metre hill has become a rite of passage for runners, families, schools and workplaces alike. Every step helps fund essential and often lifesaving medical equipment for hospitals across Australia.
What began as a crazy idea, running up Awaba Street to raise $10,000 to paint the children’s ward at Royal North Shore Hospital became something far bigger than anyone imagined.
Now, 25 years on, the Humpty Dumpty Balmoral Burn has raised more than $36.5 million to help sick kids in hospital, helping to provide urgently needed and often lifesaving medical equipment to hospitals nationwide and changing thousands of young lives across Australia.
