A weekly demonstration and hands-on cooking class!

Let’s Bake is a social baking session where cooks of any level – from novice to experienced – come together to bake, share knowledge, trial new recipes and enjoy time in the kitchen. A different menu of sweet and savoury items will be baked each week and, at the end of class, we’ll sit around the table, accompanied by a fresh brewed pot of leaf tea, and tuck in.

Recipes are a mix of new takes on old favourites and historical recipes taken from Barbara’s favourite cookbooks. They have been selected because they are simple enough to cook easily inside class time. The rather ambitious menus differ from week to week in order to accommodate cooks who’d like to attend more than one of the four weekly sessions. Each week features a tart, scone, biscuit and gluten-free treat. Barbara will demonstrate one of the recipes and then we break into pairs with each pair cooking a different menu items.

The class is designed for both novice and experienced cooks and will draw on the accumulated cooking skills of everyone. Barbara believes there is no such thing as a bad cook, just cooks with varying degrees of experience. Come for the company, the food chat and the fun.
