Join us to hear a panel of creatives discuss the dividends earned from creating communities of like-minded crafters and sharing their craft with the broader community.
Panelists
Jane Theau: an award-winning multi-disciplinary artist and a committed facilitator of arts projects with refugee groups in Auburn and the community in northern Sydney. She founded Textiles Sydney in 2020, a fast-growing and passionate community of textile practitioners.
Bridget Kennedy: a renowned contemporary jeweler and object maker who is a passionate advocate for redoing, remaking and recreating. Her bespoke projects and support of artisans and facilitation of community workshops allow her to share her knowledge, inspire and support other makers.
Jean Kropper: a paper artist, paper engineer, hand bookbinder, cartoonist, printmaker, designer and paper sculptor. She owns the design studio Paper and Pixel. Her work sees her contribute to corporate marketing ideas. She is a youtuber, book author and community program facilitator, including at North Sydney Community Centre.

North Sydney Council's Professional Development for Artists series is aimed at artists working in all art forms and of all experience levels. With several networking opportunities, there will be something for everyone. The topic areas give a broad overview of the Australian arts ecology, tools and ideas about presenting your work and yourself. Professional artists will share their experiences and practice.
