Do your kids need an orange shirt for Harmony Day? Skip the shops and let us help you tie-dye one instead.

Instead of the last-minute rush to the shops to buy something orange, we’re adding sustainability to Harmony Day.

Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre and North Sydney Council are hosting a free tie-dyeing day on Sunday 17 March. Bring your kids and a clean, old t-shirt or other item and we’ll help you tie-dye it orange. Your child will be ready for Harmony Day. Tie-dyeing is a fun activity and suitable for kids with some adult assistance.

Wear some old clothes and bring:

  • Cotton shirt (or other items for dyeing) should be white or pale in colour (e.g. off-whites, cream, beige, pale pinks/yellows); and,
  • Something to put the shirt in to take home as it may still leak a bit of orange (like a plastic bag).

We’ll provide everything else. If you don’t have a spare shirt we will provide a cotton square that can be dyed and pinned to clothes on Harmony Day. The shirt should washed by itself at home before wearing.

Where and when?

Primrose Park Art and Craft Centre, Matora Lane, Cremorne

Sunday, 17 March - come along any time between 10am and 3pm. It will take 30-45 minutes to prepare and dye your shirt.
